The idea that root canal treatment is a painful procedure is not valid in today's dentistry. The only difference from a simple filling is that it takes a little longer.
What happens if root canal treatment is not done?
The tooth cannot heal itself and becomes a focus of infection. This infection can spread to the entire tooth as well as adversely affect the surrounding tissues.
